AI is gonna make art worse — but not in the way you think.

News like this might actually make artists richer. Because unlike AI, your relationship with a real artist doesn’t wreck the climate — and a little basic human decency doesn’t come with a multi-million-dollar energy bill.

Yeah, sure, AI is gonna draw better, faster, and more accurately than any of us. It’ll crank out exactly what the client wants — maybe not 100% perfectly, but close enough.

And that’s exactly the problem.
It’s gonna be boring. Predictable. Soulless.

AI can’t be sincere. It can — or soon will — follow all the academic rules of drawing, but it can’t make human mistakes: the weird little glitches, the offbeat strokes, the raw stuff that actually makes something feel alive.

AI doesn’t really break the rules.

Let’s be real — could AI have come up with Malevich’s Black Square when realism was still king?

Not sure.

For a lot of artists, AI art might actually be a gift. Because every smudge, every messy line, every “flaw” suddenly becomes the thing that makes a piece valuable — something human, something fragile, something real.

And maybe — just maybe — this whole AI wave will force the art world to take more risks, go weirder, and explore things that AI simply can’t replicate.

Honestly, by the time AI replaces most jobs, artists might already be the last ones standing who know how to live in this strange new world.

Sounds like a win to me.
